What’s Happening to the Share Price of Aleator Energy Ltd?

What does Aleator Energy Ltd do?

Aleator Energy Ltd [ASX:AWD] is an oil and gas exploration company. Its flagship project is a gas field in the Ukraine.

However, in recent events, Aleator Energy is one more in a long line of energy companies moving away from this difficult sector and into the opportunities to be found in the tech sector, with the acquisition of Vonex Ltd, an integrated telecommunications company.

Vonex Ltd operates a cloud based, hosted PBX system servicing small and medium-sized businesses to have access to a sophisticated office telephone system. Plus they offer internet connections, NBN, mobile and landline telephone packages.

The exciting part about Vonex Ltd, is that it is creating a new patent pending app called ‘oper8or,’ which makes communicating with everyone around the globe as seamless as possible.

Presently, in the world of communications, each user is required to download specific apps to communicate. You have to download Skype to talk on Skype or download Viber to talk to Viber, Facebook to talk on Facebook and on it goes…

‘Oper8or’ will eliminate all that by the downloading one app, which will seamlessly link all communications across multiple platforms and devices, a technology which has the potential to revolutionise communications world wide.

That’s interesting, but it’s just a story, what is the chart telling us?

What does the chart look like?

I find it helpful to bring up a chart. Here is the daily chart of AWD.

Certainly people are more interested in the potential of Vonex and their app, than a gas field in the Ukraine.

What now for AWD shares?

Well it had news late last week; the company formally gave notice that is planning to go ahead with the acquisition.

You have to be a little careful now, all that is known about the acquisition, might be fully priced into the stock for now. We just have to wait and see how it reacts to that news.

Everyday another plane leaves the airport, realistically, you are not going to trade every one of these, but at least you should know where to go looking for some of these stocks. To find out exactly where you can find stocks like these, go here.
